Mathieu Delorme
Since January 1, 2024, Mathieu Delorme has been director of Ensa Paris-Est.
A landscape engineer (École de la Nature et du Paysage de Blois) and urban planner (ESEC Business School), practitioner, and lecturer at the Paris-Est School of Architecture and Urban Planning (Ensa Paris-Est), Mathieu Delorme considers his practice, teaching, and research as a whole, serving a broader conception of the field of architecture and the transformation of cities and territories.
Co-founder and co-manager of Atelier Georges, an architecture, urban planning, and landscape design agency, he has been leading numerous strategic and operational territorial initiatives for almost ten years, complex urban studies that require mobilizing and uniting public and private actors in the design and management of a project. Convinced that architecture is not limited to the question of building, just as landscape is not limited to the management of living things, Mathieu Delorme is committed to contributing to the public debate to make spatial projects a social and political practice.
His teaching and research are informed by his practice (and vice versa) and focus on the relationship between ecology and economics in the design and management of spatial transformation projects (territorial transition—urban renewal and rural revitalization/land transition—living soils and project economics). Mathieu Delorme has been involved in the life of ENSA Paris-Est since 2015 (creating training courses, establishing a chair, leading international workshops, coordinating conference cycles, etc.). In particular, he represented the School in the implementation of the I-Site FUTURE and at Gustave Eiffel University as Vice President for Innovative Development.
