Lieu : à la bibliothèque

In Post-demolition: Architecture Confronted with New Ruins, Paul Landauer presents an illustrated work on ruins and restoration, an essay blending history and theory, with a highly philosophical approach to the restoration of architect-designed buildings. His book draws on numerous architectural references, ranging from antiquity to the contemporary world. It explores the various ways of repairing buildings whilst reflecting on their preservation and transformation.

Paul Landauer is an architect, holds a PhD in the history of architecture and is a senior lecturer, a professor at Ensa Paris-Est and a permanent researcher at the OCS laboratory. Following a period of research devoted to the architecture of large housing estates (history and potential) and the planning of public spaces (conditions and models), his research now focuses on theories of transformation in architecture. He also heads the Master’s programme in Transformation at the school.

Ido Avissar is an architect and urban planner, holds a PhD in architecture, is a permanent member of the OCS and a senior lecturer at Ensa Paris-Est, where he heads the Fragments Master’s programme.

The two will discuss the book on Thursday 13 November from 1pm to 2pm in the library, one speaking as the author, the other as the reader.
