Workshop
Winter School
Every year, the École organizes a week-long Winter School, bringing together over 350 students to work on a common problem. Open to students from within the school, as well as to French and international students from outside, the aim of this inter-year intensive is to experiment with new pedagogies and work collectively on cross-cutting reflections on the city, the territory and architecture.
For its 10th edition, the school has entrusted the curatorship of its Winter School to Giaime Meloni, photographer, artist, doctor of architecture and teacher, whose theme is "Horizon(s)".
**The horizon represents not only the line between earth and sky, but also a vision of the future. Between the concretization of tangible elements and the evocation of intangible ideas, this duality inspires the proposed theme for 2025.
How can the imaginary line of the horizon guide us in designing our future? By inviting reflection on this notion, in both its physical and metaphorical dimensions, the Winter School aims to examine how the future can be imagined and represented, paying particular attention to how we live and interact with our future environment.
For five days, the 350 student and supervisor participants will come together to collectively reflect on the future of our planet, our territories, our habitats, our living spaces and our existences, through three axes of work aimed at specifying a vision of horizons: *Archaeology of the present", "After the sublime" and "Technology". The aim will be to produce images that enrich our collective vision of tomorrow, exploring the different meanings of the term "image" and emphasizing the importance of collective action in creating our future.
