Model workshop

The workshop is a place to make discoveries, to learn and experiment with materials, assembled parts, details and finishes. It is staffed by an assistant and supervisors who are recruited each year.

A large number of supervised techniques are on offer. It is a place to learn how to design and build, and each year meets the range of students' needs and expectations, with the help of the team on hand. On a daily basis, a large number of models are produced (500 so far) at a range of scales (from 1 / 1 to 1 / 5000) of landscapes, cross-sections of buildings and assembly details. The models are made from a range of materials: resins, wood, polyester, plaster, fibre glass, acrylic glass, etc. They illustrate ideas and present the students' projects visually. The workshop is equipped with a Promac 370E bench drilling machine, a drill press, a Hegner HSM 300 disc sander, belt saws, circular saws, automatic planers, bench grinders, a Stirocut 2 cutting machine, a laser cutter
    and a 3D printer...
